Bora Bora by annk I didn't but a lot of other people rented these little vehicles. We opted for bicycles.....a cheap alternative, probably more comfortable, with the added benefit of burning calories. Don't think any of these little cars made it all the way around, at least we didn't see them. Leave a Comment

near Club Med, Moorea by annk so indicative of of these islands. Again, the lagoon off Club Med, Moorea. Although I've heard the beach and water off the island of Tahiti are not so clean. I personally would not stay on that island. Leave a Comment

snorkeling Moorea by annk in a tropical aquarium. There is good shallow and deep water snorkeling in Bora Bora and Moorea. I would say it's comparable to Hawaii though, not really any better. Leave a Comment

snorkeling off Club Med, Moorea by annk Of course snorkeling tours are available on all of the islands. And it's easy to just go on your own as well. Think we signed up for this tour because it was the only way to access this popular lagoon off Club Med. Leave a Comment

Hotel Sofitel, Moorea by annk Overwater bungalows are sort of symbolic of Tahiti and her islands. While snorkeling off the beach at Hotel Sofitel (Moorea) one of the guests invited me to see his rented bungalow. The views from the porch were awesome. Not that I'd stay in one for $500+ a night, but I can understand why they are so expensive. Inside was a glass coffeetable where you could view the fish swimming below. Leave a Comment

Vanilla Farm by annk Our tour of Taha'a included visiting a vanilla farm and a black pearl farm. Of course they want you to purchase something. Black pearls are extremely expensive even here, so if you're interested I'd advise doing some research beforehand. Leave a Comment

by annk Included in the cruise was a day at the beach on a motu that was virtually uninhabited. There are literally thousands of little islands everywhere in French Polynesia. The cruise staff set up a barbecue and served drinks all day, some in coconuts found on the island. There was even a bar set up in the water..all inclusive. It was a great day for getting drunk, sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling or kayaking. By mid afternoon probably 99% of the passengers were drunk! Leave a Comment

waverunner Bora Bora by annk Bora Bora was by far the most beautiful of the islands we visited (in my opinion). The water was phenomenal.....gorgeous shades of turquoise and blue, intensified by the sandy bottom. Half way around the island, we stopped at a burial site where at one time humans were sacrificed. Ray feeding by annk For those that wanted to....you could feed the rays. Actually they were all over the place and used to the tour boats coming in. It's best to shuffle your feet so you don't step on one. Leave a Comment

Shark feeding - Bora Bora by annk One of the most exhilarating & exciting excursions. The first stop was to an area where the guides feed the sharks. There were strong currents so we were instructed to hold on to a rope. People that were not strong swimmers had more of a tendency to panic. So there was a bit of a frenzy between the sharks approach and the panicky swimmers. Our second stop was much calmer, to a shallow area to feed the stingrays. Most people were standing in chest high calm water. The rays are used to this, they approach very quickly out of nowhere. Leave a Comment
