Stores, Malls or Markets in Îles Tuamotu et Gambier

When you come to Fakarava, don't bother using your credit cards, and don't count on finding any souvenirs to bring home for family and friends.

We fell in love with the scenery as soon as we arrived, so we wanted to share the memory with folks back home. As we took a bike ride through Tetamanu Village to shop for postcards, we come to find out.........this picture perfect island does not sell postcards!

I've never heard of such a thing!

We also couldn't figure out when the peak shopping hours were in the village. One boulangerie, one market, and a dive shop is what the village consisted of. But everything but the dive shop was closed at 11am on Friday morning.

After coming across some of the photos we took during our stay, we realized.........our photos are our postcards. You cannot take one bad pic on this island.
