 Mosquito repellent by easyoar
Mosquito repellent. The mosquitos are VICIOUS in Moorea. You do not want to get bitten, so take protection. There are also mosquitos that bite there during daylight, so wear repellent all day, not just in the evening.
Bring plenty of film/memory cards as you will not want to pay the exorbitant prices in Moorea. If bringing film, 100ASA is good for daytime as it tends to be very bright. If you are going to go to an evening show, take 400-1600ASA to avoid as much camera shake as possible.
Moorea is very expensive for everything, so without going over your weight limit on your flight, try and take everything you will need with you, as you won't want to buy too much stuff there when you see the prices!

Lastly, I only brought flip flops and running shoes which was a mistake. Next time I'd bring some water shoes or shoes that are water proof but will stay on when walking on rocks, etc. (i.e. Teva's or something like that). Pants with zip-off legs. bathing suits, 3 shirts. You can wash them in your bungalow. A light weight rain jacket. A net bag for you beach gear.
Don't forget sudefed if you are diving. A small first-aid kit is a good idea -bandaids & moleskin if you a doing a lot of walking
Don't forget your power converter and battery charger for your camera batteries. At least two 256mb cards for your digital camer. Film is a real pain to protect from x-rays while going through security.
My wife and I traveled with just carry-on luggage, which include all our clothing, and dive/photographic equipment. Since my wife only snorkeled, I was able to put my BCD in her carry-on bag. Very little clothing is needed other than bathing suits, hat, sun screen, and insect repellant (needed only when traveling to the inner part of the island). Since my dive buddy was bring his video camera, they had check-in baggage, which include the food suit case which weighted 50 pounds. (Note: if you are flying to other islands on small aircraft, check you weight limits on bags.) Leave a Comment

Bring a good sunscreen and insect repellent
Keep in mind that daylight is very intense in the tropics. Use a polarisation or UV filter and bring a waterproof bag to protect your camera from salt and spray during boat trips.
