From Tahiti, the quickest way to reach Moorea is to fly this tiny airplane.
A funny flight actually, very noisy and not that reassuring, although you can control each of the pilot's moves : there is no door separating him from his passengers... It was very strange to see him push on all those buttons and then turn to us and ask "Ready?" :-)
Sit on the left side of the plane for great views on Tahiti and Moorea !

There are two ways to get from Tahiti to Moorea, by air or ferry. We tried both and air is obviously quicker and more convenient.
We used Air Moorea with their tiny little aircraft but it wasn't too bumpy and the trip only takes ten minutes. Flights are roughly every hour from early morning to late evening.

If you are headed to Moorea, you only have a couple options. Ferry, Cruise Ship, or by Airplane. We only had one opportunity to see the Moorea Airport, since it was so convenient to ferry over from Papeete, we only used the airport for transport to Bora Bora.
I would actually recommend getting to this airport about an hour before your flight if you are checking baggage, since they do take quite a while to check your bags in!

The Temae Airport in Moorea has restrooms, a restaurant-bar, car rental agencies, and information counters. Taxi service is usually available for all arriving flights. There is, however, no bus service provided to the airport.
We used Torea Nui Transport for our transfer from the airport to the hotel. They have an office at the Moorea airport and a one-way ticket costs 500 CFP (4 EUR) per person per trip to any place on the island.
For your departure with Air Moorea (back to Tahiti) your check-in time is 15 minute prior to departure. When you are going to one of the other islands, like Huahine, Bora Bora, Raiatea your check-in time with Air Tahiti is one hour prior to departure.

Air Moorea provides 10-minute air taxi service with 13 to 19 flights daily from Tahiti to Moorea. The planes depart every hour from the Air Moorea terminal which lies within easy walking distance from the International Airport of Tahiti Faaa.
