CORE BBQ - Laid Back dining on Fujita Drive behind down toward the beach.
I have been to Hawaii and Saipan and all the restarants on Guam. It's ahrd to find that island ambiance like Core. If you like any of the following you must go to Core (warm tropical nights, relaxed outdoor dining, friendly service, Jimmy Buffet's lifestyle, tropical music, speaking Japanese, or not speaking Japanese, beer, lobster, watching Japanese girls eat, watching Japanese boys eat, eating, more beer, walking on the beach after you eat, getting picked up and dropped off at your hotel...etc. CORE is run by the Sako family and they provide a mix of professionally grilled meats and seafood, Japanese and local dishes that satisfy. But everyone I know who goes there especially loves the mood. Wear your aloha shirt or mumu for sure. If they have the short Hula show while you are there just order more beer and try not to let the local dancer kids pull you out to the stage. This place never advertises so is a hole inthe wall mostly frequented by Japanese who heard about it through the grape vine. No noisy drinkers or roudy people -they are all at The Beach. So kick back, teach Mitsuru some English and enjoy.
