Louis Vuitton: Most Copied Brand (Tumon Sands Plaza Branch)

by machomikemd Written Apr 18, 2012

This Louis Vuitton Tips is for the Louis Vuitton Store inside the TUMON SANDS PLAZA.

Louis Vuitton, the Most Copied Brand (and most sought after brand after Hermes') in the World was Founded by Malletier Louis Vuitton in 1854, never would he realize that it would become a status symbol and a most copied brand in the world! need I need a more thorough explanation?

Louis Vuitton is the Core Company of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy Group (LVMH) which also owns other luxe brands like Tag heuer, Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Fendi, Donna Karan, Hublot, Bulgari and also OWNS THE DFS GALLERIA COMPANY. The Louis Vuitton Brand of the LVMH Company contributes 30% of the Revenues of the Company, inspite of it being the most counterfeited product in the world. It also owns 18% of Hermes'.

opens: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm weekdays and Saturdays
Sundays: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

What to buy: There are less crowds of tourists at this Louis Vuitton Outlet since it is not in the Pleasure Island Part of Northern Tumon, where most of the luxe shops are.

the cheapest type of monogram canvass Bag is the speedy, which is about $475-725, the Damier type of canvass bags start at $1200, the traveller bags start at $ 2,400 and wallets start at $ 350, short wallets start at $ 250 and my favorite belts start at $ 450.

the Monogram and the Damier Type of Louis Vuitton are the cheapest kinds, if you want the more luxe items that are rarely counterfeited, then buy their Wichita, Suhali, Taiga, Utah Leather which are not easily distinguishable as a louis vuitton since it has barely has the LV Markings. but they costs more than double the regular lines. The regular lines are the Monogram, Monogram macassar canvas, damier, Damier Ebene, Damier Graphite and Damier Geant canvass.

What to pay: a regular line of Monogram or damier line of Messenger bag costs $ 1,600 while the subtle Tiaga or Utah Leather at 2,600 or more.

Hermes' store at DFS Galleria: Most Sought After Luxe Brand (DFS Mall Branch)

by machomikemd Updated Apr 18, 2012

This is my Hermes' Shopping tips for their Branch at the DFS Galleria Mall.

Everybody knows that the Hermes' Brand is one of the most expensive Luxe brands in the world and is way more expensive than Louis Vuitton. In fact, about 18% of the company is owned by the LVMH group. The uber luxe fashion shop was founded by Thierry Hermes' in 1837. Hermès has 14 product divisions encompassing leather, scarves, ties, men's wear, women's fashion, perfume, watches, stationery, footwear, gloves, enamel, decorative arts, tableware, and jewelry. Hermès sales are composed of about 30% leather goods, 15% clothes, 12% scarves, and 43% other wares. What makes Hermes' popular is the Iconic Kelly and Birkin Bags for women and like Louis Vuitton, are often targets of counterfeiters but nothing beats the original. Japan is a leading buyer of luxury goods and Asia in general is the Main Market of luxe brands like Hermes hence you would find Hermes' stores at the Main Airports here in Japan and in South Korea and even in Singapore and Hong Kong and here in Guam, most of the customers here at the Hermes Store here are Rich Japanese Tourists.

hours: 9:00 am to 11:00 pm everyday

What to buy: how about a male tie for $ 850 and these are all ready duty free prices! a male wallet will cost $ 1,600 again duty free prices. A female Kelly regular bag will cost $ 15,000 again duty free. A Men's Belt at $ 1500. A Birkin ba costs $ 10,000. Terre' De Hermes Men's Cologne at $ 130, Unisex Hermes' Fragrance at $ 230 for a 50 ml bottle.

Hermes Products are very expensive since Hermes' produces a limited number of each item and most are hand made by the hermes' Artisans with no modern machinery involved.

What to pay: Maxxed Out your Titanium or Platinum Credit Card

Everybody knows that the Hermes' Brand is one of the most expensive Luxe brands in the world and is way more expensive than Louis Vuitton. The Plaza Guam Mall is located right smack in the Middle of Pleasure Island part of Northern Tumon and it faces the DFS Galleria Mall across the street and it has some of the Luxe Shops find at the Tumon area but not as many as in the DFS Galleria Mall and the Tumon Sands Plaza. They also have many food choices like the Hard Rock Cafe, Godiva Cafe, Honolulu Coffee Club, Bambu lounge, Haagen Dazs Ice Cream Shop, Seagrill Restaurant and more. Plus they have the Underwater World Attraction full of marine life.

Opens: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
restaurants and food outlets open 10:00 am to 12:00 am

What to buy: That Depends on your Budget hehehe, the Branded Stores here are really that expensive that the Mall Ranks third from DFS Galleria Mall and Tumon Sands Plaza as having the most luxe shops in Guam and if you want to buy some of the Branded stuffs here like Coach, Polo Ralph lauren or Gap or Le Sportsac, etc. then you may find some off season items at ROSS Dress for less at the Guam Premium Outlets. Some of the Stores might offer specials or discounts so you must be patient when walking and rummaging on the items you like at the Mall. Be Ready to Maxx out your Gold or Silver Credit card or bring out tight wads of cash.

Or just have a snack at the cheaper food outlets at the mall like the Honolulu Coffee Club or Hot Diggety Dog or Jungle Java Cafe.

JP Superstore: Local Mid Price Retail Chain

by machomikemd Written Apr 17, 2012

This JP Superstore is my Shopping Tips for it. Unfortunately, I can't find their website so I cannot list the website but it is also owned by the Owners of Guam Plaza Hotel, called the City Hill Company.

The JP Superstore is a local Chain of Department Stores that are patterned after the superstores in Japan wherein the depatment stores are multi-level and each particular brand item is arranged in a neat order like the Outdoor Corner, The Surf Corner, the Shoe Corner, The Clothes corner, the food corner, etc. and they are located in the designated areas of this multi-level department store. Most of the customers here are mostly the Japanese Tourists and some Chinese and Koreans and a smattering of Locals.

Opens: 9:00 am to 11:00 pm everday

What to buy: This chain of department stores have branches at the Micronesia Mall and Tumon Sands Plaza and the brands they carry are mostly mid priced and are more international than american brands such as Billabong, Oakley, Birkenstock, Quicksilver, Diesel, Juicy Cotoure, Element, Junk Food, LRG, Obey and more. Macy's has more upscale items being offered than here at the JP Superstore but the theme here is into more Young and Middle Aged asian Fashion Style.

What to pay: Not a drain on your wallet or on you credit card.
A small men's hand bag by diesel costs $95, a juicy cotoure card holder wallet at $ 50, wallets at $ 50 and more choices available.

Nautica: My Favorite Casual Wear Brand

by machomikemd Updated Apr 17, 2012

Nautica is one of my favorite Casual Wear clothing brands besides Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Lacoste. This Nautica Branch is located at the Micronesia Mall in Dededo and too bad that they don't have a factory outlet at the Guam Premium Outlets, it would have been more cheaper if they have an outlet there. Nautica was founded in 1983 by clothing designer, David Chu, and a partner. It was purchased for cash and stock in 1984 by State-O-Main, a New York based apparel company. State-O-Main changed its name to Nautica in 1994. VF Corporation purchased Nautica in 2003 and it became more popular today with more branches worldwide.

Opens: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm everyday

What to buy: they have an assortment of Men's and Women's Wear and my favorite round neck T-Shirts since they have the most stylish collection of Men's Round Neck T-Shirts. Also the Polo Shirts, they have the most colorful and trendy polo shirts after Tommy Hilfiger. Another favorite of Mine are their beach Shorts and Board Shorts.

What to pay: not a den't on your wallet and you credit card

    Round Neck T-Shirts at $ 29.50, Polo Shirts at $ 60, Slacks at $ 80, Board Shorts at $ 65 and Beach Wear at $ 70.

The best deal here is there is no sales tax!

This is their only branch in Oceania, the nearest branch from here is at Hawaii.

What to buy: Macy's is known for having lots of specials and sales and here at the Macy's Women Store, most of the Shoppers at the Asian Tourists like the Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Mainland Chinese and Filipinos) and some are the locals (Chamorros, Filipino-Americans, Mainlanders).

They even offer tourists a Macy's 10% Discount Coupon for any purchases they buy and this is used on top of any discount noted at the item being bought like for example: the Polo Ralph Lauren T-Shirt costs $ 45 but is on a 50% discount hence the price will be $ 22.50, now add the 10% discount and you only pay $ 20. But having you own macy's card is better as you would have 15-20% more discount for you purchases, excluding perfumes and colognes ok.

Micronesia Mall: Largest Mall in Guam

by machomikemd Updated Apr 17, 2012

This is My Micronesia Mall Shopping Tips, I will do a separate things to do tips for it and Food Court Review.

The Micronesia Mall is easily the Largest Mall in Guam and is patterned after the Big Suburban Malls in the Mainland like the Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco California; Serramonte Center in Daly City California or The Tanforan Mall at South San Franciso California (see my tips there). This mall is a tribute to the growing Filipino Presence in Guam as it is owned by a Filipino-Chinese Taipan Named Lucio Tan, who also owns Philippine Airlines. The Micronesia Mall opened on August 8, 1988 and since then is the number one destination for Shopping for both Locals and Tourists. The Micronesia Mall has about 125 assorted stores, restaurants, a big food court, the only Macy's Store in Oceania, a 24-hour payless supermarket, Funtastic Park and a 12 screen Movie Theaters, Philippine Airlines Office.

    Shopping Mall Hours:

    Mon–Sat: 10:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.
    Sun: 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M.

What to buy: The assorted Stores inside include: Macy's (separate stores for men and women), Foot Locker store, Nautica, Swarovski, Folli Follie, Gamestop, Harnn & Thann, Flip Flop Shops, Vitamin World and Bench (filipino clothing store), payless supermarket, benetton, guess, Levi's and more. The choices here are more varied than in Guam Premium Outlets and at the Pleasure Island area of Tumon but the prices and the brands here are more of Mid Price, hence lots and lots of locals and tourists shop here and the parking area can be full most of the time.

What to pay: Shopping at Macy's gives you a 10% Discount on most items excluding perfumes, having a Macy's card gives you 15% off the price even the ones on sale. Nautica Shirts at $ 30, Levis Jeans at $ 25 and more.

Not a dent on your wallet since most of the Stores and Brands here are mid-price

Tumon Sands Plaza: ULTRA LUXE SHOPPING MALL

by machomikemd Written Apr 17, 2012

This is my Tumon Shopping Plaza Shopping Tip.

The Tumon Sands Plaza is the only Uber Luxe Mall in the Middle Part of Tumon Hotel Row of Pale San Vitores Road as most of the Luxe Shops are located at the Pleasure Island Part of Northern Tumon which is actually a short 1250 feet (400 meter) walk from the Tumon Sands Plaza. The Area is a rival to the more touristy Duty Free Shops Galleria Mall at the Northern part of Tumon but they have virtually most of the Luxe Brands combined in their respective malls althought the stores and outlets of some of the Luxe Brands are larger here at the Tumon Sands Plaza. This has the second most number of luxe brands and items apart from the DFS Galleria. This is a favorite hang out of Rich Japanese dudes, not the average Japanese Tourists as the Shops here are even way beyond the Average Japanese Salarymen and Salarywomen who does vacations in Guam.

What to buy: Among the Luxe Retail Shops in the Plaza Include: Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Gucci, Rolex, Cartier, Bulgari, Burberry, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Chloe. Brands include, Bally, BCBG Max Azria, Bottega Veneta, Bree, Caronel Watch Center, Coach, D&G, Dunhill, Furla, Juicy Couture, Lacoste and Swarovski. They have some food outlets too like the Cafe Del Mundo, Joinus, and Illy Coffe House.

Opens: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday

What to pay: Prepare to Maxx Out Your Titanium and Platinum Credit Cards (Gold and Silver Credit Cards does not have the credit limit capable of buying the uber luxe items here) or if you have a big US or Foreignbank account with wire transfers available, then buying here is no problem.

Rolex Yachtmaster II pure gold watch at $ 35,000, Audemars Piguet Metallic Watch at $ 25,000. Louis Vuitton Utah Men's bag at $ 2,600, Burberry Mens Wallet at $ 700, Bottega Venetta Shoes at $ 1,200. NEED I Say More!!!!!
