Guam Premium Outlets: The Only Factory Outlet Mall in Guam

by machomikemd

This is my Guam Premium Outlets Shopping Tips. The Guam Premium Outlets in Tamuning, Guam is a SHOPPING and MUST SEE Destination for the shoppers going to GUAM to primarily SHOP due to the duty free nature of the island. It is the only Factory Outlet Store in Guam! however, I was disappointed in it since this is just a shell of the humongous Premium Outlet Stores in the Mainland and the Waikele Premium Outlets in Oahu (see my Honolulu Tips and Gilroy Tips) that has more then 100 outlet store and has my fanorites like Cole Haan, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, Timberland, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Nike, Calvin Klein and more. The area is packed primarily of Japanese, Korean and Chinese Tourists and a smattering of the local chamorro and filipino population who buys the budget but off season and export overrun branded stuffs. The only advantage on shopping here is that there is no SALES TAX!...

SM Store: Guam Branch of the Philippine Retail Giant

by machomikemd

This is my separate shopping tips for the SM Store, I will do a Things to do tip for the Store. If you want to see a slice of the Shopping Culture of the Philippines here in Guam, then visit the SM Store! The Huge SM Retail Chain of the Philippines owned by Filipino Taipan Henry Sy now has a branch at this US Territory. It is the number one Mall and Retail Chain in the Philippines and also has Branches at the People's Republic of China. He bought the Agana Shopping Center in 2002 and opened this SM store in 2006 (it is not as big as the SM department stores in the Philippines, please see my Makati and Manila Tips). About 30 percent of the population on Guam trace their roots to the Philippines. The local Chamorro population, especially those who come to Manila regularly for business meetings, medical checkups and treatments, are also familiar with the SM brand hence this store is really...

Agana Shopping Center: Mall With A Local Feel

by machomikemd

This Agana Shopping Center is my Shopping Tip.Why visit the Agana Shopping Center? well if you want to experience of how the locals do shopping and what are the local shops and stalls look like, this Agana Shopping Mall is it. They have many stores inside but not the high end stuffs that you find at Tumon and Tamuning like Louis Vuitton or Gucci or Prada or DKNY. They also have 5 separate Theaters for movies. Agana Shopping Center also features recognized home-grown businesses such as Pay-Less Supermarkets, Ideal Vision Center, local shops and Shirley's Coffee Shop and Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Cappriciossa and 5 movie theaters. You can also walk beside the SM store beside it (Both are owned by a Filipino-Chinese Taipan named Henry Sy, who bought the Agana Center in 2002.Opens:Mon - Sat:10:00 am- 8:00 pmSun:10:00 am- 6:00 pm the Agana Shopping Center is far away from the regular tourist...

Chamorro Village: A Taste of The Local Chamorro Culture

by machomikemd

This Chamorro Village Shopping is separate from my chamorro Village Things To Do and Dining Tips. The I-Sengsong Chamorro Village is a showpiece of the chamorro cultural heritage here in Hagatna Boat Basin Area near the Sea. The area is lively during wednesdays because of the Chamorro Night Market from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm where the area becomes lively. However, during the regular days besides wednesdays, the area is a virtual ghost town as most of the shops, restaurants, souvenir shops and half of the food stalls at the food court being closed. But There are still some shops open for the occasional tourists that go to the village from the big tour buses that pass by it or via the Hagatna Chamorro Bus Service of the Trolley Companies in Tumon. Chamorro Village is Open Everyday:10:00 am to 6:00 pm (mondays to saturdays)10:00 am to 10:00 pm wednesdays10:00 am to 3:00 pm Sundays There are...

Guam Premier Outlet (GPO): outlets

by jekika

Generally, outlets contain a lot of shops - this is where the expensive stuffs are usually sold at a cheaper price. As far as I could remember, the shops there were Ross, Nine West, Payless Shoe Source, Nike, Levi's and there are a whole lot of shoe store. Also, there are some souvenir shops just before you go down to the food court. Which, by the way, Burger King has the most accomodating people. :) Shoes, bags, clothes and of course, souvenirs. You pay in US dollars, I don't think they accept the $1 dollar coin anymore. Aside from that, they accept anything - dimes, pennys, bills. If you're like going to do a major shopping, bring enough cash cos there are a lot of buys in this place - generally shoes.

Macy's: American Style Shopping Mall

by Born2Shop

The largest Macy's in the Western Pacific is located in Micronesia Mall. When Macy's first opened they were quite large but they just completed an expansion that nearly doubled their size to 150,000 square feet inside the 700,000 square foot mall. Needless to say they have Guam's largest selections of ladies, children's and mens wear on island at affordable prices. And when they have advertised sales their prices are very low for first quality name brand fashions. The latest fashions from the designer brands, homewares, home furnishings, some electronics, fine and costume jewelry, shoes, cosmetics, all of the items you would expect at a stateside department store but actually cheaper than in the US because there is no sales tax on Guam and because Macy's Guam prices are the same as their mainland store prices. Watch for their sales which usually appear every Thursday. You can save a...

K-mart: Open til midnight

by uysijessa

I'm sure a lot of you know this already but for me, the main great thing about this store is that it's open til midnight. As the other malls/stores in Guam close early, you can plan your shopping trips such that you can always save K-mart for last on any given day. And since its not just a grocery/supermarket you can rest assured that you will still be able to buy other items like clothes, books, shoes, etc. Watch out for good buys like shoes that are less than $20 if you buy another pair for the regular price.

Guam Premier Outlets: Best deals in town

by gypsysoul73

We spent most of our time at the Guam Premium Outlets or GPO, that housed stores such as Ross, Anne Klein, BCBG, Payless Shoe Source, Nine West, Nike Sports, Guess & Levi's. So we hopped-on and hopped-off the open-air trolleys conveniently, unloading bags at the hotel just 5 minutes away and going back for more. They just make it too easy for you to spend your money here!

Micronesia Mall: Great deals depending on where your from.

by Travel2write

Over 100 stores, 20 differnt places to eat in the food court and 10 screens in the movie theater. Everything found in a typical american shopping mall. If coming from Japan, you will be happy as most prices here are more affrodable than in your country. However, if coming from the US, it will be about the same. No real specials or deals.Gets real crowded on the weekends, best to shop here during the week. About the same as you would in the United States.

DFS Galleria: Designer stores

by Travel2write

Guam is just the place for the “born to shop” crowd. The island’s duty-free status means that name-brand merchandise and other items often are less expensive than in their country of origin. Guam’s duty free shopping status means that no tariffs are added to many quality name brand international products. Lower prices on such items as watches, perfumes, leather goods, spirits, and other luxury products can be found. In addition to the elegant designer items, these stores feature Micronesian handicrafts, island clothing and beachwear DFS Galleria is the high end stuff, IE Channel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Tiffany & Company.
