SM Store in Agana Shopping Center

by machomikemd

This is my separate Things to Do tip for the SM Store besides the Shopping Tips for it.If you want to see a slice of the Shopping Culture of the Philippines here in Guam, then visit the SM Store! the department store basically has dry goods; like Shirts, Clothes and Accesories and Dried Foods, unlike in the Philippines where it has a supermarket section as not to compete with other Tenants of the Agana Shopping Center, which it also Owns. The SM Store carries known Filipino brands like Freego, Urban Wear, Hawk, Parental Advisory, IZOD, Napoleon, among others, while those from the US will be Roxy, XOXO, Nine West, Kenneth Cole, Calvin Klein, Levi’s, Jones. They also have an extensive dry food section of dried fruits from the philippines and international brand of chocolates like Godiva and Guylian. It is the number one Mall and Retail Chain in the Philippines and also has Branches at the...

Agana Shopping Center

by machomikemd

This Agana Shopping Center is my things to do tip, I Will do a separate tip for the shopping tips.the Agana Shopping Center is far away from the regular tourist area of tumon and tamuning and dededo. The shopping center and the SM Store Beside It is serviced by the Tumon Trolley Buses but you have to take the service from Guam Premium Outlets, hence if you are at the Hotel Row, you have to take two rides, the South Loop to the Guam Premium Outlets then the Agana Loop from there to the Agana Shopping Center (it is included in the 5 day unlimited pass of the trolley companies) and from here, you can go north to the Chamorro Village via a 15 minute walk on a straight path. Why visit the Agana Shopping Center? well if you want to experience of how the locals do shopping, this Agana Shopping Mall is it. They have many stores inside but not the high end stuffs that you find at Tumon and...

Chamorro Village

by machomikemd

This Chamorro Village Things To Do is separate from my Chamorro Village Shopping and Dining Tips. The I-Sengsong Chamorro Village is a showpiece of the chamorro cultural heritage here in Hagatna Boat Basin Area near the Sea. The area started in the 1980's and was planned to be a Showcase of Chamorro Culture and Activity and also to be a tourist attraction. The area is a beehive of activity during wednesdays because of the Chamorro Night Market from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm where the area becomes lively. However, during the regular days besides wednesdays, the area is a virtual ghost town as most of the shops, restaurants, souvenir shops and half of the food stalls at the food court being closed. But There are still some shops open for the occasional tourists that go to the village from the big tour buses that pass by it or via the Hagatna Chamorro Bus Service of the Trolley Companies in Tumon....

Welcome to Guam (Guam-Hawaii Comparison 2)

by machomikemd

Part two of My Welcome to Guam Tips but with Pictures of Hawaii By comparisonArriving in Guam feels that you are in a Mini Oahu Setting, You would see lots of tourists and feels that you are in a tropical Island but the difference here in Guam is that the beaches is are of the fine white sand variety other than the golden white sands of the Hawaiian Islands. Upon Arriving at the Antonio Won Pat International Airport, you would see a marked difference between Guam and the Hawaiian Islands in that there are more tourism related advertisements right inside the airport plus in that there are more signs written in Japanese Language than the English Language in the Tourist Areas of Tumon and Tamuning since Guam has more Japanese tourists than the Hawaiian Islands due to the closer proximity of Guam to Japan. For the Shopper, the main difference is the sales tax! Hawaii has a 4.75% sales tax on...

Transit Layovers in Guam

by DSwede

Taken from a forum post of mine:Guam is only about 10mi x 30mi. In seven hours, you could easily circumnavigate the island a couple times. Much of the island is off limits to civilians due to military bases, which means that you have even less ground to cover.visitguam.org has descriptions of many things to do separated by north, central and south, but as I mentioned, those are only a couple miles from each other. If it won't break the bank, pick up a car for a couple hours and drive yourself around.

Parasailing

by maryjaponeskuizon

I and my family went to Guam last month. We had a bus tour around the city. Decided to get a package tour because our children were with us. The bus tour was fine. Going to the shopping malls were part of the tour. The kids prefer seeing places than going shopping. On our tour course one part of the itinerary was cancelled. Instead went ahead to the shopping mall. The following day, we decided to go on optional tour. Even if I had to pay extra I thought it would be better so not to waste our time. We chose to go to the beach. We went to Alupang Beach Club in Guam. I was surprised when we got there because they had so many guests. Most of their guests were Asians. They beach club has a Japanese,Guam and Filipino staff. We did the a la carte course #3 lunch and beach activities included. By the way, don't forget to try the young coconut with or without wasabi. We had to go thru an...

Fishing, Sightseeing, & Snorlking Charter!!!

by guam.guy

Fantasea Charters: For the past 15 years our family has enjoyed and relax on this 40’ catamaran. The cruise leaves twice daily from Agat Marina and they can pick you up at your hotel. All fishing and snorkeling gear is provided, as well as tea and mineral water, however they allow you to bring your preferred drinks. Your family or guests can enjoy the beauty of Southern Guam’s shoreline, as they fish. Great memories are made at an affordable price.

In addition there is Fun Fair, Guam's largest arcade with redemption type games, video games and much more. The park hours are 11:30am until 9pm Monday through Saturday and 11:30am to 8pm Sundays.
