Buses tend to be old and overcrowded and if every seat is taken, Samoans add another level of seats by sitting on someone else's lap. Buses are very cheap and and run almost everywhere in Upolu and Savai'i (whereas Savai'i's is not that extensive). Most of the busses depart next to the flea market hall in Apia's city center. The main airport serving Samoa is Apia Faleolo Airport (IATA code APW). Polynesian Airlines is the national carrier of Samoa and the most popular choice of airline to get there. Polynesian Blue started to fly here from Australia and NZ in late 2005. Other airlines that fly here include Air New Zealand, and Inter Island Air which operate from Pago Pago on an irregular schedule. Some literature and websites state Samoa Air fly to Apia.
