If you're going to Nauru, I hope you like Chinese food, because that's the ONLY kind available in the restaurants there. Not even any local dishes! The only other option is a Western snack from the kiosk at Chappelle's supermarket, which is right on the other side of the island from anything else and only opens during shop hours. Here's a brief guide to some of the places I went to.

Antina's - Nauru's best restaurant, in my opinion, and one of only three licenced establishments on the island (the other two being Reynaldo's and the Menen Hotel). A bit pricier than average but you get what you pay for. Very tasty and filling and a few items that are a bit different from the stalwart offerings of the other places. This is on the right as you're heading towards Menen district from the airport in Yaren, just after the junction of the main road and the loop road around the runway.

Reynaldo's - Nauru's best known and best-looking restaurant. Ambitiously situated over two floors and decked out in traditional Chinese livery, it looks the part. The menu is a but unambitious but of better quality than the usual. Of a higher price, too. The staff are very nice. Situated right next to the airport; you can't miss it. As you are allowed to leave the airport after checking in, it's a good place to get a feed while waiting for your flight.

Kasuo - Right next to the Od-N-Aiwo Hotel. It's typical of all the other restaurants on the island i.e. run-down looking small establishment offering an identikit menu. Most of these places look unsavoury but serve reasonable fare for a cheap price. I mention Kasuo in particular because they do a good fish and fried noodles, which was the stand-out meal I had from any of the normal restaurants.

To do a guide to all the other places would be pretty exhausting for me and the readers, because they are all so similar. Let's just say they're all decent enough without being out of the ordinary, but by the time you leave Nauru you'll be craving anything that's non-Chinese!

I love all the Chinese restaurants on Nauru, especially the smaller restaurants, as they are cheaper and serve good food. For a dish it would cost $2.50, which is way enough for me.

Favorite Dish: Fish hakf cook
Fish no cook put oil
Coconut Fish
