The Butterfactory: Wining it in Whangarei

by misoluva

This place is at the back of buildings hiding down an alleyway. Real laidback with an upmarket feel. Drop in for a wine but just know it is expensive. They have a good selection of wines - most boutique wine, going off the top of my memory, i remember the cheapest bottle was $48NZD. They mainly serve imported beer - which is very expensive. Overpriced in my opinion.Apart of the overpriced drinks. They do have $10 cocktail nights on Wednsday as well. Its a good place to unwind and relax and enjoy a drop of wine. tidy casual

Rhynoz restaurant/bar grill: Bar

by misoluva

Open from lunch to evening serving drinks and meals. They got big screens here for the sport.Their also well reknown for their stone grill menu. This is where you order your selection of meats/seafood. They give you a really hot stone and you start cooking your own meal.Entertaining but then the novelty wears off. Don't get that if you are really hungry and dont have the patience to wait. The meals are substantial, so dont order more than you need to.I stopped buying 'top shelf' drinks because i could swear they water down the alcohol content.I just stick to beer or RTD's(pre mixed drinks) that way i know exactly what acohol % is in my drink. They have happy hour somedays and last time i went they had a really good DJ on Friday nights. Casual.Sometimes you feel your at the local pub with what the punters wear.

Heaven: RnB club

by misoluva

Heaven is a nightclub and plays hiphop and RnB music. They make cocktails and sell alot of RTD's(ready to drink aka lollie water) and beer for those who prefer that. The have pool tables and a small dancefloor. Good if your into that scene. Downside about this club is when it gets packed, feels like there is no air conditioning. I could swear there is no air conditioning in there. You have to head up the stairs to get there. They have a lift for wheel chair/disabled access as well.Men aint allowed to wear just singlets or strip off, you 'll be booted out. They sometimes have bands or popular well known NZ DJ's and some hiphop acts.Drinks range from $6-20. Men aint allowed to wear just singlets or strip off, you 'll be booted out.No hoodies or bandana. The bouncers won't hesitate to escort you out if you misbehave.

The Playhouse: 1st Class Live Entertainment & Food

by EGerard

The Playhouse is set off by itself, about a 25 minute drive from Motueka; it's more or less by it's lonesome, which adds a certain mystique to the evening. The surrounding area is beautiful and well kept, with a lovely little pond filled with water fowl flowing beneath a small bridge to nowhere. A three course meal plus the play will run you $75 Kiwi dollars, a real treat. The food is well prepared, the wine selection is admirable, and the acting was top rate; the play I witnessed was a comedy, with Kiwi humour sprinkled in liberally. A truly enjoyable evening with great food and entertainment for a good price. Plus, the architecture is rather... interesting. There was no stringent dress code, but virtually everyone showed up in at least a nice shirt or dress.

Herbals: Legal highs

by srinpav

When I was in Christchurch I met some guys who seemed to have having an extra special time on the town if you know what I mean. I asked them what they had taken and they told me about a shop that sold legal herbal drugs. The next day my girlfriend and I decided to seek out this so called store out of interest. We bought these things called wizzers and we were totally hammered for literally 24 hours. mind you we had 3 each in one hit as we were sceptical of whether they would do anything. So by all means seek out this herbals shop if you are in christchurch, I'm sure if you googled it you could find it, or just ask around. Take care though it was pretty full-on and was a bit more than we bargained on.

Pub Crawl: Pub Crawl in Wellington

by Moni87dk

Wellington is one of the best cities in New Zealand, to go make yourself a pubcrawl. You could start of in one of the many pubs on Cuba Street, and end the evening in the Courtenay Place District, where entertainment awaits you everywhere! If youré on a pubcrawl, you don´t have to impress everyone with your clothing style, but it´s rather about having a good time with your gals. Some places though, wont allow you in if you´re wearing slippers or sneakers.
