Orbit is a very classy restaurant. It is right below the top floor of Sky Tower. The restaurant rotates while you eat. It sounds like a cool idea but was actually making my wife and I feel sick. (they can set the movement to various speeds)
The food was pretty good and a bit on the pricey side.
You also get free admission to the Sky Tower Observation Deck. It's worth a look.
Favorite Dish: The potato soup was very good. I think that I had a steak for the main course which was quite good. I was surprised since I read reviews that the food was not so great here.

The Orbit Restauarant has great views....over all of Auckland and beyond, in fact, as it is situated at the top of Aucklands Sky Tower, and the restaurant itself slowly revolves.
The evening starts with the elevator ride, zooming up from the basement of the tower past glass panels. Spend some time at the observation deck and work up an appetite by daring each other to walk across the glass panels in the floor!
I would recommend you book your table before sunset, so that you can enjoy the colours in the sky, and watch the cities lights come alive as the light fades.
Favorite Dish: I had a starter of smoked Akaroa salmon with preserved lemons, and a main course of crisp roasted pork with garlic and rosemary potatoes. The restaurant offers lots of New Zealand produce, but the menu is very international, which is an accurate reflection of NZ cuisine.
Orbit Restaurant is a little pricey, but the food is very good, and the location is very special, so I would say the price is worth it. Expect to pay $60/$70 NZD upwards for 3 courses with wine.

Spectacular views from this very nice revolving restaurant, situated 190 metres up the Skytower.
Great service and lovely food, even a little bit of excitement to get up here on the lift.
I really enjoyed being up here to watch the sun go down, so we got to see the city by daylight , then by night. The night lights were gorgeous too!
Park in the Skycity underground carpark, and you get charged minimum rate if you produce your restaurant receipt. One tip here is to be sure to take the little tag from the Lift lobby, so you remember where your car is, as there are several levels and believe me, searching for your car is no fun!!
Favorite Dish: I would recommend anything off the menu.
The entrees (starters) were all under $20 and the main courses were around $30.
