    This was the only observation deck in downtown Auckland in 1996 when Harrah's Sky Tower was still under construction. I am not sure whether this observation deck is still opened to the public today when a visitor can go up to the higher observation deck at Sky Tower. Entry to Observation Deck cost only NZD 2.00 per person in 1996 which I thought was well-spent! This is really a place for relaxation as the deck is fully-airconditioned with soft piped music in the air. You can sit down and relax for hours in air-conditioned deck and watch the world go by below before going down to the heat on the streets below.

    exploring a City has always been and is a passion of mine and I think other travellers like that too. getting a feel for the place, the people, where to eat and shop. and how people live. amongst the point of interest in Auckland could be: the City Art Gallery, the Domain and the wonderful Parks...I like Albert Park and the Domain, many like the Parnell Rose Garden. those old Kauri Villas are worth to have a closer look at. could have put the pic under Local Custom, many are still occupied by Family's..going into the 4th or 5th generation. prime Realestate, in the middle of Aucks booming housing market, worth a fortune!

    Auckland has a very nice and clean downtown area with some interesting buildings. Queen St. is the main road through Auckland, with plenty of shops and restaurants on it or nearby. The waterfront offers activities for everyone. Take a walk and get a good feel for Auckland. It shouldn't take more than a couple hours to walk the downtown area and see what Auckland is about.

    If you are in town where the place you much know ,it's cinema.it's my lovely place,honestly I spent lots of time there and watched plently of movies which I have ever watched in the past.I love it.

  • One street back from Queen Street is High Street, it has great shops (more boutique than the ones on Queen Street) and lots of good cafes, bars and clubs. Try Lorne Street for more interesting shops and Vulcan Lane for great drinking spots (the Occidental Tavern especially)

  • One will find both local and foreign branded shops on either side of the road.. dotted with small eatires or take aways ... Many shops shut by 5pm so plan accrodingly esp if you coming from else where... Post Jan 15 one can get nice discounts ...
