The Masonic Hotel is one of the oldest still standing buildings on the north shore. The hotel was built in 1866 and is one of the oldest pubs in New Zealand. They have around 14 different varieties of NZ beer on tap as well as both NZ and imported beers in bottles. One of their newest beers for sale is the Erdinger Wheatbeer, which has a distinctly smokey vanilla taste and can be found only at 3 hotels in Auckland. They serve lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday with live music. Located right on the waterfront with great views across the harbour and back to the city.

This restaurant represents a taste of New Orleans. The menu advertises dishes like, char grilled Cajun chicken Caesar salad, Louisiana Gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish pie to name but a few. Desserts like Mud Pie and Pecan Pie are also on the menu. The décor is relaxed with a brick lined covered courtyard and big leather couches. Service may be a little slow but the large meals probably mean you need some time in-between courses. Live blues/jazz also for entertainment. The restaurant is licensed but there is no BYO.
They are open Mon, Tues 4.00pm – 1.00am, Wed – Sat 10.00am – 1.00am, Sunday 10.00am – midnight.

The restaurant sits right over the water and was named after a small bay just before North Head which was discovered by a French explorer in 1827. You can dine inside or out on the deck and enjoy the view across the harbour to the city. They should know how to make a real margarita now, they were shown by a real Texan :-)

Wicked Wanda’s is on the main road running through Devonport. They are mainly an American styled barbeque restaurant. You could try their smoked Pork Wanda sandwich or smoked pork Ribs and fries for just a couple of suggestions. Full licensed and they are open Monday to Sunday 11.00am until ‘late’.
