 | Devonport Transportation | Tips 1 - 3 of 3 | | Popular Transportation | Other Transportation Tips | All Tips (3) Regular ferries connect the pretty seaside suburb of Devonport with downtown Auckland. I caught one of these ferries, operated by "Fullers", during my visit to the city in March 2006. The following details are correct as of that date: - Ferries leave for Devonport from Auckland's ferry building every 30 minutes (on the hour and half past the hour) during the day. Ferries return from Devonport to Auckland at quarter to and quarter past the hour. - Adult tickets cost 5.20 NZD one way / 9 NZD return and can be purchased at the ferry terminal. - The crossing takes just 12 minutes. It is also possible, but not as quick, to travel between downtown Auckland and Devonport by road. I was told that the bus journey would take 20 minutes and upwards, depending on the amount of congestion on the harbour bridge. Buses to Devonport can be caught on Queen Street outside Britomart Station. Leave a Comment

You can easily access Devonport by going across the Auckland Harbour bridge to the North Shore, but one of the nicest ways to get there is across the harbour by ferry from downtown Auckland. The service runs regularly. There are also plenty of shops, and some cafes as well inside the Ferry terminal (pictured) Leave a Comment Theme: Ship/Boat
