This is a trendy Delicatessan style cafe located in the back streets of Newmarket. It is a popular spot for brunch on Saturday or Sunday. They also have a shop which sells delicious condiments and sauces amongst other things which make great gifts!

I went to this place for lunch as it is quite reasonable and the food is good. I bought the calamari salad with pita bread for $10. A set menu is available - four course meal $25 per person (group booking). A belly dancer can also be booked for $50 for 1/2 hour. It is Fully licensed and BYO. Open 7 days and nights.
They have Kebabs, Salads and other specialised dishes. Leave a Comment Theme: Middle EasternPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 59 Victoria Street WestPhone: 09- 303 0312Directions: Diagonally opposite the Sky City Tower.

There are two restaurants in the same establishment. In the "Tanuki's Cave" downstairs the food is more of the fried or grilled variety and upstairs in the sake bar the food is more of the sashimi, sushi type.
I love sashimi (raw fish) and was very happy to have a huge plate of it for $16.00. When I ate with a friend we ordered this and fried chicken ($13.50 for a big plate) and mixed tempura (fried vege's and prawns) for $16.00. This was more than enough food for us and had an authentic taste. M K O P Restaurant by kiwigal_1 This restaurant is well located in the heart of Mission Bay. This area is a waterfront location and there are water views from the restaurant. It is best to book a table if you want a good one!
I ordered the Fish of the Day which was snapper. It was really lovely (and heaps of it too!). I think it cost about NZ$25 for the dish and most of the mains started at about $18. Puhoi Valley Cheeses, north of Auckland by worldkiwi Puhoi Valley Cheeses started out as a cheese factory, sourcing and producing locally. Situated in a steep, forested valley, about 40-50 minutes drive north of Auckland, there is now a lovely cafe there too. From inside you can watch the cheese makers at work through large glass windows. I did wonder how the cheesemakers felt with people gawking at them! The cafe serves a la carte and buffet and is aimed to the light lunch market with a European/Pacific Rim menu. The highlight is the "Cheese Bar" where you can taste the cheeses themselves and buy if you wish.
The food is delicious and most dishes include some Puhoi Valley cheeses of course. Try the feijoa wine (pineapple guava is another name for this fruit). It's scrummy on a sunny spring day sitting in the sun on the cafe terrace. This cute little bar/restaurant in Devonport always seems to be busy especially on Thursday night - Greek night, when there is live music and dancing. It is mainly just pizza and pasta (I know, strange for a Greek owned place!) but the food atmosphere and prices are all good. Ask a local if you can't find it!

Orbit Restaurant is one of the nicer places in Auckland to dine. My first and only trip here so far was when the lovely Stephanie came over to New Zealand from sunny California. We had a mini VT meeting at the Orbit Restaurant. If you are dining in the restaurant you get a free trip up the Sky Tower. The restaurant is revolving and offers fabulous views of Auckland City. The good thing was that the prices of the dishes were not hugely different from most Auckland restaurants so dining up the Sky Tower need not be an astronomically expensive experience.
I enjoyed the Oyster entree. Cabernet Man picked some awesome wines to accompany our meals. The food, wine and company was really good! Reservations are recommended. Verve Restaurant, Parnell by ATXtraveler During our visit to Parnell, we stopped in to have a bite to eat. Although the village itself was not quite open at 8 in the morning, we were able to see a couple of cafes that were open. We noticed a big crowd at Verve, so we thought it must be good! Sarah and I had a croissant with ham, cheese and tomato, and it also came with some really great onion jam. The onions actually gave the sandwich a great taste, and we topped that off with some good expresso. Some of the others around us had rather large omelettes, which looked delicious and would be my recommended choice for the next one! Leave a Comment

This part of central Auckland has got trendier and trendier over the last few years. It is a good shopping area but also has some great eating places. I will be adding to this as I sample more of what Newmarket has to offer! Safran Cafe/Restaurant/Bar is located at 71 Davis Crescent near the corner of Broadway and Khyber Pass. Phone 520-5664 to make a reservation. The cuisine was meditteranean in style and the service was excellent! Leave a Comment Theme: Eclectic/International
