Verve Licensed Cafe: Don't lose your nerve... get to Verve
by ATXtraveler
During our visit to Parnell, we stopped in to have a bite to eat. Although the village itself was not quite open at 8 in the morning, we were able to see a couple of cafes that were open. We noticed a big crowd at Verve, so we thought it must be good!Sarah and I had a croissant with ham, cheese and tomato, and it also came with some really great onion jam. The onions actually gave the sandwich a great taste, and we topped that off with some good expresso. Some of the others around us had rather large omelettes, which looked delicious and would be my recommended choice for the next one!
Safran: Newmarket Area

Safran is a Cafe/Restaurant/Bar. The cuisine was meditteranean in style and the service was excellent! The place does a $10 lunch which is excellent value. The restaurant/cafe is located in trendy Newmarket. Why not go there for a spot of open mall style shopping and then stop in at Safran for lunch.
INDIAN SPICE: Best North Indian Cuisine
by kinjalnz15
Voted by the best magazine as the best place to eat in metro magazine 2007 in Auckland. This place is THE best place to experience best of auckland eatry. This place is in a food court which speclize in asian and south east asian food. One of my best recommend is Indian Spice which speclize in best of north indian cuisine . This place is far better than any other indian cuisine place that i have visited. Do try this place ,its must if you are in auckland.
My favorite dish at this indian spice is chicken tandoori and thikka malasa and this restaurant make its all cuisine in natural spices and best not like other indian restaurant in auckland which adds colour to look good but not taste, but this place is all traditional indain naturally and best of north indian cuisine.

Soul Bar and Restaurant: Soul Bar - Viaduct
by kiwigal_1
This restaurant is a pretty nice one. A good place to sit and watch the world go by on their outdoor seating area overlooking the Viaduct Basin. The food and NZ wine is really good.
I would recommend any of the fish or lamb dishes.

Rikka: Rikka Restaurant - Newmarket
by kiwigal_1
This little gem of a restaurant is a must visit if you are into Japanese food. The decor is interestingly modern for a Japanese restaurant - kind of funky really - and the atmosphere and food are fabulous.
We ordered something called ....Tenshin, damn I hate it when I can't remember... anyway it was this set menu of several dishes for two people. It included sashimi (which I love), sushi, tempura, sukiyaki, yakiniku cooked on a hot stone, edamame, salad, misu soup. We chose to wash it down with a few Kirin beers.
Arirang Korean BBQ Restaurant: BBQ by yourself!
by morninglory
Not so fancy restaurant..nevertheless good place to have your stomach filled. With gas stove placed on your table and cook the food (bbq)up to your liking. Not so practical for those who hate cooking! But hey, you know better if you cook on your own!
BBQ beef and kimchi(pickled cabbage)
Kermadec: New Zealand Seafood Restaurant
by kiwigal_1
The Kermadec is one of the best places in Auckland to go to to dine on fresh Seafood. There are two parts to the restaurant, a brasserie and a more formal restaurant. Bookings are recommended. The restaurant is located in the heart of the Viaduct Harbour and offers stunning views over the harbour at night.
I have eaten the Snapper dish on one occasion and a Seafood Platter (for two) another time. Both were absolutely delicious! The service at this restaurant was very good and they have a little bar that you can wait in until your party arrives.
Orbit: SKY TOWER RESTAURANTS
by kiwigal_1
Orbit Restaurant is one of the nicer places in Auckland to dine. My first and only trip here so far was when the lovely Stephanie came over to New Zealand from sunny California. We had a mini VT meeting at the Orbit Restaurant. If you are dining in the restaurant you get a free trip up the Sky Tower. The restaurant is revolving and offers fabulous views of Auckland City. The good thing was that the prices of the dishes were not hugely different from most Auckland restaurants so dining up the Sky Tower need not be an astronomically expensive experience.
I enjoyed the Oyster entree. Cabernet Man picked some awesome wines to accompany our meals. The food, wine and company was really good! Reservations are recommended.
Sapor Noodle House: Best tasting, honest Chinese food in Auckland
by Lalee
I knew this place had to be good as I constantly see people crowded around the front door trying to get in. It took 3 attempts for me to finally eat there as everytime I went they were full. A regular stop for us, we constantly take friends here and overseas guests. Although the place is no classy joint and it reminds you of a typical Asian cafe, the food is without hesitation - the BEST Chinese food in Auckland. Everything is cooked fresh to order and the quality is superb. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. The servings are generous and well priced from $8.00 - $13.00 roughly. If you order the whole blue cod that's a bit more expensive but worth it. Every person I have taken here has come back with more friends. The food here blows Canton in Kingsland out of the water. Reservations are essential if you want a table. Many a time we have just had to order takeaway as we didn't...
Al Camino Restaurant.: Good food at good prices.
by worldkiwi
Al Camino restaurant is situated in the northern satellite town of Whangaparaoa, about 40 minutes drive from the city centre (outside rush hour). The restaurant is small and popular, so it would pay to book on weekends. Greek food is the specialty, but the dishes are generally a fusion of eastern mediterranean food.
Anything!
