Tickets

by danielinnz

Tickets to many of the sporting events held in Auckland can be purchased online at www.ticketek.co.nzHowever if you want to see a rugby test match you'll probably find it almost impossible to secure tickets unless NZ are playing one of the lower ranked teams

Chamberlain Park Public Golf Course

by kiwigal_1

This is one of the cheapest and easily accessible golf courses in Auckland. It is located in Linwood Avenue in Western Springs between St Lukes Shopping Centre and the Zoo. Tee-off's are first come first served. The course is 18 holes. It is possible to hire equipment at the club.

Eden Park

If you are a die hard rugby or cricket fan you cannot pass up a trip to Eden Park. It is (in an Aucklanders opinion) the major sporting ground for these sports in New Zealand. It has an amazing atmosphere. Bring money for admission (If there is a game on). Maybe some food but no bottles or cutting knives. There are the usual fast food stands if you wish to experience the true kiwi sporting event.

We were lucky to join one of the Boats going out to the sea to follow the Louis Vuitton Cup 2002 Semi Finals. It was a warm sunny Sunday afternoon, wounderful setting for great semi-finals between Oneworld and Oracal, Oracal won the battle that early afternoon. The finals proved that they were a better and a stronger team for Louis Vuitton Cup 2002.

Louis Vuitton semi- Cup Finals

I was out at sea watching the semi finals at a very close distance. See my pic. North Island, about 44,000 square miles and home to approximately 70% of the population; South Island, about 58,000 square miles, and Stewart Island, about 700 square miles. There is no point in the country that is more than 70 miles from the sea, and from end to end; the country would stretch from Los Angeles to Seattle. Boats, Sails and a strong team.

North Harbour Stadium

by kiwigal_1

The North Harbour Stadium is used mainly by the Kingz Football team and the North Harbour Ruby team. It is located on the North Shore in Albany. It is also used as a ground for concerts.

Experience the thrill of a match-race, be a crew member on a former America's Cup Yatch and get involved in the action. Hat and sunscreen!
