Favorite thing: Years ago Waiheke was considered far away and less accessible than it is now. As a result of faster and more comfortable sea ferries, this perception has changed. Now more people live on the Island, and quite a few even commute to the city for work. They are delivered by ferry right to the centre of downtown Auckland, every day. Quite a large amount of students arrive on the ferry also, to attend school on the mainland.

Favorite thing: Waiheke roads are generally quite good. Often a little skinny but not too many problems. there are one or two unsealed areas only left on the Island.
Fondest memory: Lots of Islanders walk and bike around, here you can see a walkway beside the road.

Favorite thing: Being on an island can mean a certain kind of isolation, but you don't need to be away from your friends and email for long.
KLPNZ.net Café, c/- Rockgas Waiheke, 35/37 Tahi Rd, Ostend, Waiheke Island have a wonderful little internet area. tel: 09 - 372 3606.
The people here were so kind and even gave me a free ground coffee for free! No I can't say everyone will receive this, but it shows how welcoming they were when I was there. $5 (New Zealand dollars) per hour was reasonable too!
Fondest memory: It was such an unusual location. Amongst the industrial area, and in the Rockgas building, but there it was and I found my connection!
