A nice stop where you can see a very big kauri tree and go for a short forest walk.
There is also a small cafe on location.

After lunch in one of the town many cafes it is always great to go for a short walk along the river banks . There are lots of ducks and sea gulls to keep you company. One word of warning , make sure you don't slip on their droppings.

Take a step back in time with a river trip on the historic SS Kapanui an old steam boat.
The boat, which is believed to have been built by Charlie Thompson in 1929, has been extensively rebuilt with a restyled cabin to provide shelter for passengers. A new coal fired boiler and steam engine has also been fitted.
The boat leaves from the Warkworth Wharf and gives some good history and information on the Warkworth area.
