We called from Rotorua to see if the next day shoud departure the boat to the Isle of White and they told us that the decision had to be taken by the skiper just before leaving, because the sea was rough at that moment .
We agreed to call the next day early and in fact before we call them at nine we already had a van at the campsite to pick up to us , that would take us and bring back from Whakatane, where we took the boat, with 48 pasengers , which led us to the island that is 48 km from the coast in about two hours
The ship is comfortable and they entretain you with tea on the outward and something to eat when you come back.
As you are relaxed in the sea , it is a nice travel

White Island Tours provide a very well run and comprehensive day trip to White Island. The operation is very professionally run, I was very impressed.
The base, at 15 The Strand East, Whakatane, is a stunning motel building with shop and cafe, right across the road from the wharf. This provides somewhere to stay if you arrive in Whakatane the night before, which is very sensible. Also a nice environment to sit and wait for the trip, even if you haven't stayed the night in the motel.
Tours are 7 days a week at 09:15am,
01 December to 26 December: 8.am, 9.15am
27 December to 10 January: 7.00am, 9.15am, 12.30pm
11 January to 31 January: 8:00am, 9.15am
01 February to 28 February: 8.00am, 9.15am
All are Weather Permitting.

Island tour is 90 - 120 mins.
