Gone Fishing!
Fishing is a favourite kiwi activity. Drive around the Coromandel coastline, and you will see people perched on craggy rocks, doing fantastic long casts with their surf casters, happy as you like to sit in the sun and wait for the fish to nibble(or not as the case may be!).Plenty of places will let you hire a rod, although you can pick one up for a reasonable price, and you won't travel far along the road without seeing a place selling bait and ice and other fishing paraphernalia.This bait shop is in the centre of Coromandel Town, and it has to be just about the smartest bait shop I have ever seen! The centre of Coromandel Town is full of historical buildings, and this used to be the towns Bank of New Zealand.
