Wandering livestock - beware when driving.
This picture was taken on the narrow road from Te Araroa to East Cape itself. Sure enough, a few hundred meters on, there were cows, horses and sheep on the road edge. This warning, however, can apply to the whole of East Cape region. Even out on State Highway 35, be wary of stray livestock, riders, and dairy farmers moving their herds across the road.
