Rush Munro's is a Hastings icon. The freshly made local ice cream is good value, full of natural products and in a huge variety of flavours. A small number of sorbets have also been added to the menu. The flavours change to reflect seasonal availability and on a daily basis as they sell out. A small courtyard and some covered tables are available to enjoy your treat as well as a goldfish pond for children to make wishes. The peak ice creams are the best value and inspired by Te Mata Peak, looming behind the city. Open into the early evening in summer and always busy, no trip to Hawkes Bay is complete without a visit to Rush Munro's.
Favorite Dish: It's hard to pick from the fantastic flavours, but feijoa, boysenberry and chocolate are the best. Feijoas are a fruit very popular in Hawkes Bay and the ice cream shows off the unique taste perfectly with lots of real feijoa. Boysenberry is full of real berries and the chocolate is just fantastic - rich with a slight nutty flavour. Their take on the iconic hokey pokey is also a delight.

Tommo's has both indoor and outdoor dining, a friendly atmosphere and . It is fully licensed with a great choice of drinks. The choice of local wines is especially good. The menu is on the small side, but the food is tasty, good quality and always fresh. Staff are friendly and efficient and very accomodating with children or any special requests.
Favorite Dish: The steaks are fantastic, as are the desserts.
