Used to be well worth the detour off the highway to visit this Factory Shop of NZ natural clothing, mostly wool blend, with some of the special 'possum merino' wool products also.
A few of the products have a slightly Scandanavian design.
It wasn't as good as when I was here in 2004, because in 2007 the factory was bought out by a sock factory: now there are more socks than anything else and much of their clothing seems to be made elsewhere in NZ.
There were a few things 'on special' but even these prices were over $100, so we were quite disappointed.
I have to say, NZ does their thermal and wool clothing shops up very well, but I rarely found anything at what I'd consider bargain prices, or even affordable for me. But if you're into sport and prepared to pay, you'll find quality goods.

The Information Centre says that Trolls are a big thing in Norsewood.
Besides the ones in the Info Centre, there is also what they call a 'Troll Stroll', where you go for a walk, follow clues, and try to spot all the trolls hiding under bridges or up trees....
Pity we only had a few minutes to stop, or I would have tried this myself, just for the sheer quirky fun of it!

We didn't have long to spend in the area, and I really enjoyed the Information centre for being able to provide local information and displays so I could come to understand how this town came to be here a little better.
There was a very good range of unique handcrafts and souvenirs for sale also, and quirky items on display such as Trolls.
