Taumata
This is the longest placename in the world: Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuaktanatahu. It means the hill where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, who slid, climbed and swallowed mountains, known as Land Eater, played his flute to his lover. Tamatea was a Maori chief that was famous for his long travels, therefore they said he ate mountains.
