The Brown Sugar Caf?: Great Place to Stop while driving south.
Really nice food here, paninis, filled rolls and croissants, slices and generally wonderful stuff. Outside, near the outdoor seating area, can be found toilets, and a lovely herb garden, waiting for people to admire and use them :-)You can also find tasteful souvenirs and craft items on sale, and potted herbs. Very interesting as well priced. During winter months, they have a lovely fireplace going as well.Another bonus is that right next door, is a great adjoining shop with interlinking access, where you can buy great adventure equipment, including very nice wildweather clothing. Many places in NZ require protection from the elements, so you can add to your wardrobe with very nice gear from here. The shop is called "Stanford Sports and Ski", Hautapu St, Taihape. You can access it from the street or from the Brown Sugar Café.
