Please dont be dismayed at the title of this topic, The "Pig Pen", also known as the Castlecliff hotel. So I hear the story originates to a few years ago when a guy taking his pig down to the abbatoirs decided to have a quick pint at the hotel. Him and his mates are having more than one pint and his pig must of sensed what was going to happen and makes a break for it...........yes you guessed it, he got out of his pen on the guys vehicle and ran through the hotel bar............hence the name, "Pig Pen"........Now that we have associated the name with something, lets get on with it. Most Friday nights, you can find Danny here who runs the Karaoke machine, lots of fun, the more you drink, the better you think you sound......lol.
Dress Code: Tidy dress....this is not a "pig sty"...lol

The "Slippery saddle" in Wanganui is probably one of the best renowned nightclubs, especially on a Friday and Saturday night.
This club caters for all ages from the age of legal drinkers to the oldies........it appears that if you are 30 or over, you are an oldie....lol.
The bar staff are friendly, if your ever there, ask for Wilson, hes a big surly Maori guy and usually works on the bar or at the door.
It is a safe place to have a drink and revel in the music that is provided.

We spent an enjoyable 24 hours in Wanganui, enjoying what the city has to offer. It's a pleasant place to visit, with enough attractions to keep the visitor busy for a day or two.
