If you are cruising past Wanganui with your boat and want to test the waters out, then please get advice on crossing the Wanganui Rivermouth bar. This can be treacherous at times and you and your boat may end up getting gobbled up if you dont do the right approach. Better still, if you are not an experienced skipper, find one that will guide you through.
