Diving Option - Northland NZ
by Kaikoura
I do not dive either but I would suggest you look at Poor Knights Island off the coast in Tutukaka as an option. The warmest waters in NZ is up North. I have taken a friend from Germany to Tutukaka for his 2nd level if I am not mistaken. He came back with great colourful photography from that dive an he thought the place was awesome (and I thought so too). Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://diving.co.nz/poor_knights_islandsAs a non-diver I really have no idea what is good or what is not good underwater-wise. I've walked most of the length of the Tutukaka coastline and further north but have not been to Poor Knights Island myself. I am happy to provide you photos my friend took from the island if you so wish...

One hole golf on an island in the lake
by SLLiew
This is a unique attraction of an man-made island near the shore of Lake Taupo with a golf hole. There is a sign challenging any golfer to do a hole-one stroke. Thought it was rather unique that worth bring attention to if you are in the neighborhood.
Skiing and tobagooning opportunities
by SLLiew
Go to the Ski Resort of Mt. Repheu in North Island. There are ski slopes or tobagooning or just building snowmen or throwing snowballs for family and kids.Skiing period in New Zealand is during June to September as winter is reverse in the Southern hemisphere.
