The only thing to do around is to immerse oneself in the natural beauty of the colourful lakes, pans and geysers. For security reasons, this is going to be more a mental rather than physical exercise. The palette of different colours might turn you into a contemporary Van Gogh with their exuberance and intensity. The pans offer bubbling hells for pure amazement or cooking. Well, it is not clear how well the second option will go with the park authorities.

Address: Wai-o-tapu proper
The main park at Wai-O-Tapu is characterised by a large area of steaming ground and fumarolic activity associated with collapse craters and mud pools. The thermal activity is responsible for the noticeable variety of colours in the exposed rocks. The main attraction however is the Lady Knox Geyser, which erupts 365 days a year at 10:15am.
