Almost all the hills around and about are relics of what were once volcanoes. And anything like a range of hills was likely formed by earth movement associated with volcanic activity somewhere.Some are very easy to pick out because of their conical shape. I live between where I'm standing to take the photo, and the volcano in the distance.
The Waikato region is vast and appealing. There are both large flat areas but also a lot of nice rolling hills sprawling between coasts.This area is well known for its lush green grass, assisting the dairy industry and also a very strong horse breeding industry for race horses. It's the green green expanse, oh and I live here!
