kiwigal_1 Says: The Owharoa Falls are just on of the beautiful natural sites to be seen in the Karangahake Gorge. To get here it is only a 30 minute walk from the Visitor Centre at Waikino. Or you can see them from Waitawheta Road further down SH 2.

kiwi Says: Again, if you have time, walk along the side rivers to find more beauty and if you are keen, and have a license of course, try your luck at trout fishing. The quiet of being alone, yet the loud noise of the river. It's truly beautiful.
kiwi Says: Some areas here have walking tracks established along a disused railway line. Nice wide tracks and easy walking.
Cross the river on the swing bridge.
kiwi Says: Even if you don't have a lot of time, try to just walk over the bridge and look at the river and glance back at the reverse view.The native bush surrounding you here is very special.
