2012 - Boatshed is CLOSED as a Cafe and is now a function centre.
This is a nice Café in a lovely location overlooking the lake. You often see ski boats and kayaks and sometimes small sailboats go by.
The food is simple, a relatively small menu, but very tasty and nice. They serve gluten free food as well.

Favorite Dish: The coffee is real nice, and I had a piece of Lemon cheesecake which was scrumtious. I have eaten here a few times, and always the food is great.

Created by a dam, for the hydro scheme, Lake Karapiro is very picturesque. Capable of being very foggy and damp in the winter, on a sunny blue sky day it is really nice.
