Lake Karapiro Travel Guide

This is a nice Café in a lovely location overlooking the lake. You often see ski boats and kayaks and sometimes small sailboats go by.
The food is great, very tasty and nice. They serve gluten free food as well.

Favorite Dish: The coffee is real nice, and I had a piece of Lemon cheesecake which was scrumtious. I have eaten here a few times, and always the food is great.

Favorite thing: Karapiro is the home of the National Rowing teams when in training.
Here they are in May 2004, preparing for the Athens Olympics.

Fondest memory: Most activity with the rowers occurs very early in the morning before the wind gets up, and again later in the afternoon. I saw highschool students rowing, then change into school uniforms and drive off in time for school to start. They are very dedicated to put in a few hours rowing before their classes!!
