When it comes to big sheep, I'm reminded of the one on the outskirts of Goulburn in N.S.W. but this is certainly a worthy challenger.
Situated right beside the tourist centre it offers all sorts of woollen items, even ones with possum fur mixed in.

And next door to the dog is a sheep building. That is the wool shop. Built in 1994, this was the first corrugated iron structure in town, starting a popular trend.
They sell more than just woollen products and have a very nice array of garments and sheepskin and possum products.

Corrugated iron (known in some countries as roofing tin), is a common building material all around the world. In New Zealand it has a link to farming, as farmers often build storage sheds or barns out of it. Many houses in cities and towns have corrugated iron roofs.
In Tirau, this ubiquitous material has been used to create artwork that adorns many shop fronts in the town. There are even two buildings sheeted entirely in the stuff, and in the form of common animals in rural NZ. One is a giant sheepdog (the information centre) and the other, next to it and pictured here, is a giant sheep. Appropriately, that building houses a sheepskin rug shop!
