This inspiring store, greets each visitor with a warm welcome, you really feel like a guest not just another customer. Sue Wilkinson who owns and runs the shop is really chatty, friendly and a fountain of knowledge on all her stock; both past and present. She has the uncanny and very useful ability to remember what you purchased previously and in a discreet manner suggest new items may compliment these past purchases or that you simply may like.
Sue describes her store as homeware with a culinary flavour, perfect as Martinborough is gaining an international reputation for fine wine; which of course is best complimented with great food.
I love that Mint not only has wonderful new products sourced, locally, New Zealand wide and internationally; but Sue cleverly hunts out amazing vintage finds also. This mix of modern and vintage gives the shop a real eclectic feel and is much more interesting with this new and old pieces complimenting each other so well. I feel that this mix is the secret of the shops success.
For me what makes this shop so special is Sue's friendly, enthusiastic service combined with a constantly updating range of wonderful products. I once asked Sue what was her secret to finding so many gorgeous products to stock in her shop; she told me she only chooses things that she loves and would want to live with herself. How is that for good taste!

This is a good place to start. The store sells wine from fairly much all the wineries in Martinborough, and allows you to taste a number of local wine varieties (at a small charge for each one).
There is a little wine cafe attached.
