 salisbury3933 Says:  This place does excellent Thai food, and I've been there numerous times. They have just got their liquor licence which is a bonus.The price is good, and the taste is good. Plenty of variety on the menu as well. Recommended.

 salisbury3933 Says:  This particular cafe is actually built out of straw, hence the name, but it is an interesting, family friendly place to visit in the countryside.There's a large play area for kids, and the coffee and food are pretty good as well. Recommended.

 salisbury3933 Says:  China City is a good value restaurant with the full range of Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price. The quality of each dish is excellent.I would recommend it as a good place to have a meal in UH.

 salisbury3933 Says:  I've been here thrice now, and enjoy the food and the reasonable prices. This place seems to be really good at Tandoori dishes. My favourites are the tandoori chicken wings and tandoori mushrooms.

 salisbury3933 Says:  UH doesn't have much nightlife to speak of, but the Hut is one place to venture to for a few drinks and a game of pool.Edit Dec 2011Unless my brother is pulling my leg, this place is now closed for business.

 salisbury3933 Says:  This park is yet another nice place to get away to, have a picnic and do some good, if not too strenous bushwalking.Lord of the Rings fans will also be interested in this area, as it is one of the places that was used to shoot the movie Lord of the Rings.

 salisbury3933 Says:  This place just out of Upper Hutt is a great place to relax, have a picnic, throw a ball or frisbee about and to do some bushwalking. There are different walks, varying from 1 hour to 4 hours in length.It's at the end of Plateau road off State Highway 2 North of Upper Hutt
