Café at Karapiro by kiwi If you get hungry on the stretch of road between Hamilton and Rotorua, consider a stop at The Boatshed Café and you won't be disappointed. It's in a lovely location overlooking the lake and you often see ski boats, kayaks and sometimes small sailboats go by. The food is simple, a relatively small menu, but very tasty and nice. They serve gluten free food as well. My parents across the table at Pedro's by fishandchips, 2 more photos Pedro's has been creating great food in Christchurch for many years. Based upstairs on an corner of Worcester & Manchester St's Pedro's is almost in the middle of Christchurch. The room is large with several different sized tables. The menu changes regularly with the only certainty the shoulder of baby lamb. The main courses are all the same price (approx $30) so your choice will only be influenced by your taste buds. The wine list is quite good though you can bring your own wine if you wish. Corkage is a hefty $7 each so not cheap but it does allow you to bring a couple of bottles of your own wine and not pay restaurant prices. The atmosphere is about right (from my experiences in Madrid & Barcelona) and the waiting staff all Spanish.
Pedro's signature dish is the shoulder of baby lamb and it's my favourite. It is a very large dish and comes with veges. It is very tender and very tasty. A must try!! If you are vegetarian there are few options though, from my experience, the Pedro's team will often make something up as needed. Leave a Comment

Regata Veronica Channel Paihia by ray_d Simple and unfussed. The food is quality and thoughtfully unfussed. Honest and tasty without the frills.
Starters were good sized although average in presentation and unimpressive, yet tasty. Grilled Lamb was crisp in the right places. The Vegitables were a background in taste and sauces understated. Whats the score? by K.Knight What a great restaurant. There is a rugby match in progress on the roof of this establishment. Looks like the All Blacks are playing the Irish!
The mussel soup was sensational but you can enjoy mussels done in just about any way you can think of! Should take about 45 minutes each way. Worth the drive.

One of a chain of mussel places with another place in the huge town of Havelock (okay so it's a tiny town) in Marlborough and Paraparaumu north of Wellington. The mussels are very very good and worth a look if you have any fondness for mussels. You can get the mussels in a variety of styles but I believe that the more simple the better - a look at the main photo for this tip is the way to do them!!

Fishbone Bar & Grill is located near Beach Street, Queenstown city centre. Inside decoration is so colorful. Dishes are mainly fresh fish fried, baked, char-grilled, smoked and seafood of course. The owner of FBG usually go fishing at the morning. The fish caught at the morning will then be the " Today's Fish " of the dinner menu of that day in order to make sure the dishes are fresh made.
