  • I've called this an Adult Spot but it's really just another bar in Christchurch. Main difference with this place though is that it's the old Avon Movie theatre with its original movie screen still in existence - this means a fantastic set-up for watching sport while out drinking. The big negative with this place is that it's a DB (NZ beer brand) only pub so you can't get a large range of beers. I suppose after your 4th or 5th beer you're not too worried though!!

    Casual is fine. Can be a big queue to get in later on at night and when there is a major sporting event (eg All Blacks are playing) so get there early.

    The Holy Grail is the best sports bar in Christchurch. It has a great atmosphere, a big screen for feature matches and many other sections with smaller TV's to screen other sporting matches. The club is home for the Canterbury Crusaders fans, and will be very crowded when they are playing in the Super 14 series. They screen cricket when the rugby is not on. 'Tis a grand place.

  • This is a Night Club in Christchurch, The beats are awesome, The people and dancing is wicked, it makes for a pretty great night out. With 'The Strip' & Boulivard just down the road, close to central town (in it) & with the rest of the clubs right down the street, you have your pick of them!

    Decent dress Formal No gang patches etc

    Mike fell in love with this immense sports bar and was trying to figure out a way for us to return for the Saturday night rugby game. He really wanted to try having a bar maid - god that sounds wrong - and drinking a bar maid doesn't sound good either. Hopefully the picture explains it.
