apart from cokers bar, which is where i spent mos of my time as it sold beer for $3.50, £1 at the time! and cos it was next door it was easy to stagger up the stairs to bed!
in town - the bars along oxford terrace are great at the weekend, open til 6am, pumping muisc and the beer flowing! names that stick in my mind - hogshead(juist off the terrace - or strip as its know), er...actually cant remember any names, but u cant miss it, follow the music!.also in the square, or near it, baillies is good for a beer and games of pool.

Christchurch has a number of great Night Clubs and bars, infact, there are over 1000 bars and clubs throughout the city.

The Holy Grail Sports Bar - This bar was built as a drink venue to where Canterbury Crusader (Rugby Fans) can watch their team go into battle in the Super 12 Rugby Competion. The bar is a converted movie theater, which holds 1200 people on 4 floors of drink-space. There is also a large screen which is said to be the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Although Rugby is the first Priority, you are welcome to watch any major sports from around the world. How do I know this, I once worked there!

The Best place to go out in Christchurch is 'Casual Street' there are alot of bars and people out - it is a really great atmosphere - it is the best place to be on the weekends!!
