The Malls around Christchurch are some of the best places to go looking for most of the items you need. You can get around them quite easily via the Orbiter Bus which has its route going past Northlands, The Palms, Eastgate, Westgate (Riccarton) and Barrington Malls plus the Bush Inn centre.

Bluff Oysters, an internationally known delicacy, is only available once a year, as stocks are limited and the season short. They come from a small town on the very tip of the south island, near Invercargill.
Having heard all the hype (they even have the Bluff Oyster festival once a year!) I bought them for a very expensive price and tried them and was nearly sick. I loooove seafood, I come from Fremantle, a fishing port in Perth, yet these oysters were horrible slimy cold things. Maybe I wasnt eating them right, I did chew them and I think you are not meant to chew raw oysters but I cant stomach anymore. So if anyone once 10 free Bluff Oysters let me know..
What to pay: I paid $17 for 12 oysters.
