Favorite thing: Mum,Dad and the Kids can have a great time here.and they usualy do. Sat/Sun when the Sun is shining there is no better place with picnic on the Beach or bring your kite

Fondest memory: most days I stroll to the beach or bike..watching the tide come, often the Pacific Ocean is quite forceful, then I take a seat at Library, reading the Newspaper..sipping my Latte, right there and then

    Marine Parade N.B.

Favorite thing: when the first settlers arrived in Lyttleton Harbour, they had to walk over the Port Hills to reach a fertile and flat area, which they called Christchurch, most Settlers came from England...they settled pretty fast and everywhere wee suburbs where build, but none of them near the Beach ..30years later, in 1856 the people build little Cribs also called Baches.. near the Beach and called it New Brighton. first a temporaly Sumer& Holiday retreat....

Fondest memory: now nearly 150years later, New Brighton is a florishing, selfefficent and proud Seaside of Christchurch..and I live here, well close and I like it.the area has tremendous regreational value...bike rides, walking through Bushland, kajaking, rowing..the River Avon flows into the Ocean near by.... sailing, surfing. Horse riding, and I could go on and on

    Toddlers pool

    by Kate-Me Written May 28, 2004
I just love the whale in the middle!

Favorite thing: This would certainly have to be the most colourful and attractive toddlers pool I've ever seen, and it's right behind the beach.
I really love all the use of bright colour. So neat and tidy, as nearly always in NZ.

    gulls in 'their' pool

Favorite thing: The Seagulls also loved this pretty swimming pool and treated it as their own little pool, which was cute, but wouldn't be so good if it was summer time and the pool was actually being used.

Favorite thing: There's a lot all under one roof here - library, internet access, a large cafe and restaurant, and the huge pier.

Fondest memory: I just found this a really interesting building.
