This sport is located actually off to the side of New Brighton's mall, just across the road from the waterfront.
I think it's called The Slingshot (it certainly operates just like one, with the caged humans as the catapault stone, being launched into the air at about 200 km hr, if I remember the speed correctly...or maybe it was 180 km hr...anyway, some ridiculous speed. We watched two girls do it and survive just fine, didn't even throw up, which I thought was pretty amazing considering the launch. And then once you've reached the end, the rubber or whatever it is just bumps you up and down, a lot slower, until you come back to rest on earth.

Equipment: No gear needed. There are some weight restrictions I think. And no doubt some health warnings..

Spring is in the air and so are the spring storms..blastering Nor'wester today, we had to be careful and watch the ball, wrong tee off and the ball would come back ...like a boomerang....
