Bennu is a fantastic place, and you can visit it for a full meal, or one of my favourite things to do was to go to a movie at the Rialto theatre across the road and then duck into Bennu for a "Real White Chocolate" - hot chocolates made with real chocolate, including chocolate pre-melted then set to the inside of the glass. These are perfect on a winters night!

Favorite Dish: Pizza, and the chocolates above!

The bar was not far from our Hotel (Southern-Cross) and they served excellent food, and wine.

"From the guide book (Young professionals are drawn to this elegant venue in one of Dunedin's finest buildings, decorated with a sky-light right above the bar, and palm trees."

Not being "young or professional " we were not put off, the fact was there was not many places open at the time we had checked in and gone for a walk, so went ahead, but the staff were very courteous, and the food delicious. The Porterhouse steak was excellent.

Favorite Dish: Porterhouse steak, mouth watering, rock salt potatos, side salad, Garlic Bread, - a small cobb loaf, cheese encrusted on own breadboard.

prices below:=

Cobb loaf $nz3.50

2 steaks $nz43.90

Salad $nz4.95

Martini $3.00

Stein beer $nz3.50

cannot grumble at those prices, of course NZ is less expensive than UK.
