This place is the "place to be" if you are anyone, so it seems. Just the smallest place, an old garage converted. Outside seating is only about 3 small tables, but the sunshines on them and it can be really pleasant. It can be a little cramped inside if the weather out is foul. But it's cosy and friendly and you could be rubbing shoulders with someone! On their card it reads "Between a Rock and a Hard Place". I really like the shiney crescent spanner as the door handle, keeping the garage/mechanic theme. You can purchase teeshirts and coffee beans here also. Staff are many, efficient and teed to look good!!
The coffee has to be my favourite attraction here. Caffe L'Affare beans, just delightful. You can eat with your coffee, if you want. They say this is the base for "Coffee Rescue", in Queenstown. And you may even bump into the odd celebrity or film industry person. Update 2008 - Joe's Garage relocated to Searle Lane. by kiwi This place is something special. Intimate and personal, just a very small dining room, one downstairs and another upstairs. Or you can just pop in and have a cocktail at the bar. The Bunker is more about nightlife than just being a restaurant. Open from 5pm - 5am, it looks quite grunge-like from the outside, with its big beefy strong wooden door. But open that door and you are introduced to dining's heaven! There is also something special about being out at 2am, perhaps some snow falling and finding a great spot open for a meal, in Queenstown. I recomment you call at The Bunker if you are up and about in the wee small hours. Bookings are essential.
Fine dining, top chefs, and you can supplement your mean with the finest wines and cigars if you chose. by dmirebella For a laid back but hearty Mexican meal - head down Sombreros - with plenty of tequila available (not that I had any on that day), good company and conversation - its a good place to chill out for a bite or a snack ..
The nachos - ask for spicy - no need for any additional condiments Leave a Comment Theme: MexicanPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Trustbank Arcade Beach StPhone: 03 442 8240

This restaurant had a very nice interior with billiard tables,a large bar, lots of seating area & a massive fireplace .We were there on a sunny afternoon so we sat on the the narrow upstairs balcony that overlooked the pedestrian only street. It was a great place to lunch, chat & people watch. Winnie Bagoes Specialty is Thin Crusted Gourmet Pizzas with an assortment of toppings. They all sounded so good, so we ordered 3 different mini pizzas and had a little of each. My favorite one had smoked chicken, cranberry sauce and Brie, the most ordinary was the Italian, but they were all very good. I 've heard at night, it still serves great food, but the crowd is WILD ! Imagine a live band with lots of people dancing. Some people playing a rowdy game of billiards . And others sitting around the roaring fireplace laughing & chatting with a drink in hand. Then a retractable ceiling opens to allow in lots of fresh air and a view of the stars. Next time I am going after dark ! Our first night in Queenstown we walked along Lake Wakatipu shore on the Steamers Wharf . We saw the 19th Restaurant and decided we would try our luck as we were without reservations. We were lucky because even though they were quite busy the hostess said we were welcome to come in ,order drinks and be seated right away. We would however, have to wait 30 minutes to put in a food order. The atmosphere was casual and the helpful staff were very friendly. The time seemed to pass quickly, then I ordered a light supper. I had Spinach Salad with Apple Vinegarette, which was very good. Even though it was pretty late when we were dining, I was surprised to learn that in a Queenstown summer the sun does not set until around 10:00 PM ! So we were able to enjoy the amazing views of the bay and the distant Remarkables mountain range. Leave a Comment

by cnango This traditional Irish Pub was actually shipped over from Ireland !! The interior has a bar and several tables in a cozy pub setting. The outside patio ( pictured here) overlooks the dock on Steamers Wharf. It is a nice place to drink a beer, chat with mates & eat a very good meal. The day we visited Pog Mahones the weather was lovely so we decided to lunch on the patio .The Special of the Day was Bluenose Cod & Chips, my son ordered that and really liked it. I ordered the Prawns & Avocado Salad with Creamy Paprika Dressing. it was really delicious and they did not skimp on the Prawns :) Leave a Comment Theme: Pub/BreweryAddress: 14 Rees Street, QueenstownPhone: 64 9 360 4500Directions: Across from the TSS Earnslaw dock on Steamers Wharf.Website: http://www.pogmahones.com/

Dinner at the Boardwalk by Canadian_Traveler The food here is fabulous. In a week in NZ we were not able to find a place that served bad food (thankfully we were not trying) and I don't know that I could say the same about any other place I've visited. Well the food at the Boradwalk was some of the best. The restaurant is located at Steamer Wharf and, if you're lucky enough to get a window seat, is surrounded by awesome views of Queenstown Bay and the Remarkables Mountain range in the background. There are a lot of great bars (including 5 Below, the ice bar) on the lower level of the wharf to stroll to after dinner if you so choose.
We had the BBQ Lamb Fillet as an appetizer and one of us had grouper while the other had salmon (I believe). Whatever the case...the food was fabulous. We had cappucinos and dessert and were totally satisfied but not busting out at the seams. :) Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: STEAMER WHARF ˇ PO BOX 409Phone: +64 3 442 5630Website: www.boardwalk.net.nz Other Contact: dine@boardwalk.net.nz

The Tatler Restaurant is located in a beautiful historical building next to the Eichardts Private Hotel on the Mall. We walked in at lunch time and had no trouble being seated. I ordered a Smoked Chicken Panini with Brie & apricot-mango salsa. My husband had Grilled Sirloin Steak and our son had Caesar Salad. The food was all very good and the setting was nice. We had lunch at the Loaded Hog on the Steamers Wharf. It was Saturday so there was a street fair with booths & live entertainment .I enjoyed a tasty Smoked Chicken Ceasar Salad, while listening to a local musician sing & play guitar . A Friendly Queenstown Pub by cnango Montys Pub is located on Church Street near the lake. It specializes in a variety of the award winning Monteiths beer, all on tap. This warm and friendly Kiwi pub is a great place to have beer with your mates.I have heard the food is quite good here as well. But having studied Interior Design, I really appreciated the decor. In keeping with the Mining theme of Queenstown Montys Pub is decorated with natural materials and its exterior is supposed to represent a mine shaft a very unique and fun setting. Leave a Comment
