Favorite Dish: They have a lot of variesties burgers to choose from. Great taste, great value of money and all the staffs are friendly too. Avoid the peak hours during lunch as they are always long waits outside the restaurant. They also have b/fast time from 5.30am till about 9am. Make sure you grab a burger from Fergburger when you drop by Queenstown.

Winnie Bagoes Specialty is Thin Crusted Gourmet Pizzas with an assortment of toppings. At night they have live bands with lots of people dancing. Some people playing a game of billiards & others sit around the roaring fireplace laughing & chatting with a drink in hand. Then a retractable ceiling opens to allow in lots of fresh air and a view of the stars.

The Lone Star – full name: Lone Star Café & Rattlesnake Bar – is listed as a place which serves large and hearty meals. So no fine dining but filling empty stomachs. I know many people who already have enough when they see such portions piled on mega-sized plates.
I would not waste money and order a starter, as the mains are huge, and not cheap.
Although I can eat lots I am amazed how somebody can still eat a dessert after such a meal.
It is Lone Star tradition that the waiters – super Coolies in the Queenstown branch… - sit down at your table to tell you about the specials. Hubby finds this quirky, I find it strange but do not care. Not all waiters do get it properly, so sometimes customers even feel offended when the waiter suddenly sits at their table LOL
Most meals consists of a huge amount of meat but also fish and some vegetarian dishes are available. Only a very few mains under NZ$ 30.
I had a burrito which came with buffalo chips. Those chips were really delicious – although I did not succeed to eat them all ;-)
Open from 5.30pm till late (Fri/Sat from 5pm), whatever “late” means in Queenstown. Bar from 4.30pm (Fri/Sat from 4pm).

Superb! Superb! Superb! This is a great place for seafood meals if you have some dollars to spend. Although the food is superb I think this is topped by the location. From the upstairs floor right on the waterfront you have great views over Lake Wakatipu and the peaks on the opposite side of the lake. In the evening it is even romantic to have dinner there.
Although the food is of good quality I still think it is overpriced. Starters slightly under $20, and the average price of a main course $35 to 40 is not for everybody's budget. And a lamb rack for $42... I do not really know... The famous seafood platter for two costs, BTW, $130... Ok, this is special and not for every day. But even a simple green salads comes to $7.50. This is just crazy.

A stop at Fergburger is a must! Either for lunch or a bite after partying Fergburger serves the best! I've never had such a good burger. Here you'll find a good selection of prime beef burgers and fish burgers (Codfather is one).
Favorite Dish: I went for the regular cheeseburger, which was fantastic. The meat was excellent and I had to come back a couple of times during my short weekend stay in Queenstown. Don't miss it - Fergburger is on it's own an attraction in NZ!

Gibbston Restaurant offers both indoor dining and outdoor cafe style.
The restaurant is attached to the Gibbston Valley Winery which is well known for it's award winning Pinot Noir.
If you are looking for a gorgeous venue for a wedding then Gibbston could be it!
The restaurant is open daily from midday - 3pm for lunch with winetasting from 10 am to 5 pm.
Favorite Dish: The food is Mediterranean with a New Zealand twist and of course goes well with a wine from Gibbston's own vineyards.

The food here is fabulous. In a week in NZ we were not able to find a place that served bad food (thankfully we were not trying) and I don't know that I could say the same about any other place I've visited. Well the food at the Boradwalk was some of the best. The restaurant is located at Steamer Wharf and, if you're lucky enough to get a window seat, is surrounded by awesome views of Queenstown Bay and the Remarkables Mountain range in the background. There are a lot of great bars (including 5 Below, the ice bar) on the lower level of the wharf to stroll to after dinner if you so choose.
Favorite Dish: We had the BBQ Lamb Fillet as an appetizer and one of us had grouper while the other had salmon (I believe). Whatever the case...the food was fabulous. We had cappucinos and dessert and were totally satisfied but not busting out at the seams. :)

We decided to eat at Chico's by chance: we liked the outside tables placed in The Mall on a sunny day. We ended up eating inside, and were very happy about our hamburgers. The grill offers good menu options dor lunch, for 15NZ$ per person.

My friend had been stopping here for years and I must say, I'm a convert now too. We stopped in the mornings to grab a simple breakfast and a few things for later in the afternoon.
The aromas of fresh bread flow out the door and the displays are full of delicious stuff. They are open from 6am to 6pm daily.
Favorite Dish: There's a rack on the wall where you can get any fresh made loafs you want. Behind the counter, the staff will be happy to serve you any of the muffins, danishes, dessert slices, etc.
Everything we tried was good and fresh.
