 | | | | Bungy Jumping.: Not for the faint hearted (like me...) | | | | | |
AJ Hackett's Nevis Highwire Bungy is the way to go if you want to bungy jump in Queenstown. When we went in the morning, the activity was closed due to high winds making conditions unsafe. When we went back to check at lunch, AJ Hackett's had decided it might be ok. As far as I was concerned it was still too windy, but what would I know? So we climbed onto the bus and began our scary, bumpy, narrow mud-road journey to the infamous Nevis Highwire (click on the picture to get the full view). When we got there (still windy), we were all strapped into harnesses and shuttled across the ravine - yes, you read correctly - the RAVINE, by cable car, to the metal cabin that was suspended on cables in mid air between 2 cliffs. (If you get motion sickness I suggest you stay and occupy yourself back at the hotel) It was still windy and the little cabin was swaying back and forth in the strong wind tunnel created by the cliffs. Anyway, the boys jumped from the cabin 134m to the ground - Apparently it was AWESOME - but you'll have to take their word for it as all I wanted was to get off that swinging tin shed.
