'Bungy', the word that quickens the pulse and stirs the imagination, refers to the challenge and excitement of throwing yourself off a bridge or platform high above the ground with your legs attached by a single rubber band.
This is the world's first bungy site. Began over 14 years ago.
Height : 43 metres / 142 feet
This is the only bridge that does tandem and water jumps.

Check out the bungy jumping action at one of the five sites around Queenstown.
If you're planning a jump, the Bungy Centre (Cnrs Camp & Shotover Sts), provides free transport throughout the day to the sites.
It's getting quite pricey these days, so even going and checking out the action without actually jumping is pretty cool.
(BTW - when I was growing up, jumps used to be free if you did it naked, too many people took advantage of this deal, and it got stopped a few years back - bummer for the budget backpacker aye)

If you have to jump off a bridge, make sure that someone ties your feet with a rope so you survive to tell about it!!! Lots of people come to Queenstown to try all the fun activities like jumping off a plane, a bridge, or speed boating in narrow canyons, etc... etc...
As for me just sitting there and watching people bungee was enough and the craving suddenly went away!

I admit I'm too chicken for this so i watch instead. Looks like soo much fun though. Maybe one day.

Well the first commercial bungy jumping enterprise, anyways. The inventors of bungy, AJ Hacket and Henry Van Asch opened their first bungy site on the Kawarau Bridge just west of Queenstown.

Queenstown's only urban bungy, a jump that is 400m above Queenstown. No doubt this jump is the most scenic.
You can also jump at night !
