    The Ledge Bungy & Swing
You dont have to go out of Queenstown to do your bungy jump. You can do your urban bungy jump here at the top of the Skyline Gondola. It is 400m above Queenstown. You could do it anytime of the day or even night.

Unfortunately, there werent any bungy jumper on that day else we could observe the jump at the outdoor viewing decks, gondola or at the Skyline Bar.

Dinner at the Skyline Restaurant was awesome. It was one of the "must do's" on our list for NZ. We took the Gondola up about an hour before dinner so we could have a good look at the beauty of Queenstown below and take lots of pics. Also relax with some pre-dinner drinks.

We were lucky enough to get a table right up against the window looking down on Queenstown. A breathtaking view.

The buffet dinner was great as well.

It is a great place to shop for souveniers to bring a piece of NZ back to your family and friends.

My favourite are the Soft Toys where I could cuddle them to take some pics! You can find the kiwi’s and sheep in all shapes and sizes.

T-Shirts, Knitwear, beauty products, Jade, Paua Shell Jewellery, New Zealand Books, Teatowels, Paua Ornaments, Placemat & Coaster Sets, Coffee Mugs & Shot Glasses, posters, postcards, keychains can be purchased at this shop.

As it started to drizzle, we ordered something light before we head back to our backpackers.

Take a look at the menu. There are lots of varieties to choose from. Snacks, burgers, drinks, alcoholic beverages, salad bar and grill options. The prices at the cafe are reasonable and affordable.

You could enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Coronet Peak, the Remarkables, Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown if you take any of the window seats

    View From Gondola

The view from the gondola is quite awesome.

As the gondola ascend from the station you can feel it climbling up the steep slope. We began clicking the camera. The ride down is more pleasant and it feels as if you are crashing down into the forest.

We caught some sheep on the way and of cos the bungy & swing station and the beautiful Queenstown.

When you are at the exit of the gondola, there is a souvenier package of NZ$40 for you to purchase. It is the photograph of your Gondola ride. We find it a bit steep.

The view from the viewing platform is spectacular. You could see the panoramic view of Coronet Peak, the Remarkables, Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown right before your eyes.

I was afraid of heights and that didnt stop me from posing a few pics with the beautiful secenries of Queenstown.

    GONDOLA RIDE

A must in Queenstown is to take the gondola up to the top of the mountains to get a panoramic view of the town. It's located alongside a large lake surrounded by the Remarkables mountain range -- very pretty (although Rotorua's gondola ride offers more beautiful view).

There is a cafe on the top with a wonderful vista over the town and lake. They also have bungy jumping, tandem para-gliding and luge from up there.

    View from Bob's Peak...

Though quite touristy, the views from the top of Bob's Peak can't be beat. Either hike up the hill or take the expensive gondola ride to the top. Acvitities up here include paragliding, a hiking circuit, and a "luge" car track...

    View inside the restaurent

Enjoy Sumptuous Taste of New Zealand buffet at Queenstown's most spectacular location. Take the gondola to Bob peak. The view was simply spectacular!! But be warned, it is very windy. There are 2 session for dinner, 6pm and 8pm. There is also gift shop but prices there are more expensive, you are better off getting gift on queenstown area.

Prices for $69 for dinner and gondola ride.

    Downward View of Town

After our heart-stopping Shotover ride, and over the top helicopter ride, we were ready to come back to earth. The gondola ride was definitely a good way to end the entirely thrilling experience.

Our helicopter ride took us to the roof of the Skyline complex located on Bob's Peak. Before heading for our gondola ride, we stood at the observation deck looking towards the lovely views of Coronet Peak and the Remarkables in awe.

    Gondola and the Luge

To get to the luge you have to go up the gondola. I HATE heights but I really wanted to go up, so I had to be brave.

Once you get to the top you can go down the luge, or just look around. We got a ticket that included the gondola up and down, and five goes on the luge. It was about $30.

At first the luge was a bit scary (I have been on it before too), but by the second go it was fine. They make you go down the easy slope the first time, so if you want to go hard out, make sure you buy at least two tickets.

    Skyline Gondola

The Skyline Gondola towers over Queenstown so you can't miss it really! If you want awesome aerial views (without the cost of a helicopter) then I suggest to anyone that they should make a trip up the hill. What we actually did was walk up through a track in the forest and then took the Gondola down so that we got the best of both worlds. The information centre in town was excellent at offering advice on the best way to walk up the hill. It takes about an hour and takes quite a bit of physical effort but is worth it!

The link below will take you to the Skyline site with further information on the cost of the Gondola. There is a restaurant and luge at the top also.

    View from the Luge

Going up the Skyline Luge gives you some great views of the QT below! This is a must do for any tourist really!15,000 years ago during the last ice age, a huge glacier moving from the north west carved out what is now Lake Wakatipu. The lake is relatively thin, but the mountains run straight into the lake, forming a deep canyon, 399m at its deepest point.

Lake Wakatipu is the second largest lake in the Southern Lakes District, covering 290 square km. At its widest point Lake Wakatipu is five kilometers wide, and the total length is 84km.

    Skyline Lookout

Up on Bobs Peak is a stunning lookout point accessed either by walking or the less energetic and more sensible gondola ride.

There are stunning views over Queenstown, the Remarkable mountains, down Lake Wakatipu and over the Wakatipu basin area.

There is a cafe / restaurant and you can watch people leaping off a bungy, parapenting or taking a trip down the exciting luge, which has a mini ski lift to take you to the starting line.

Great entertainment and scenic views from this premier attraction in the heart of Queenstown.

    Skyline Gondola

For the most spectacular view of Queenstown, visit the Skyline Gondola. This takes you to Bob's Peak, offering a panoramic vista over the entire town and its environs. This is the best thing to see if you have only a very short time in Queenstown, and want to make the most of it.

In addition to the view, there is a restaurant (which I didn't try), a gift shop, a luge raceway, and another lift to the ski slopes.
